Shameeka Ayers married her love of marketing and public relations to her obsession with social media to create her alter ego, blog and brand, The Broke Socialite, in 2006. Through this voice, Shameeka has utilized new media to create a national series of highly-lauded and curated dessert events with a social media twist called Sugar Coma Festival™ and Sugar Coma Tour™ which have been featured in publications such as Daily Candy, Southern Living and Atlanta Magazine. She also produces lavish!™, a first-in- class lifestyle bloggersʼ conference for those who utilize social media to engage about shelter, style, travel, food & wine, entertaining and other general lifestyle considerations. Also an author, Shameeka penned Instantly!: How Quickly I Realized I Hate My Job, a novella (release scheduled for 2011) where occupational tomfoolery, hilarity and technology collide.
