Shameeka Ayers married her love of marketing and public relations to her obsession with social media to create her alter ego, blog and brand, The Broke Socialite^TM , in 2006. Through this voice, Shameeka has utilized new media to create a national series of highly-lauded dessert tours and festivals with a social media twist called Sugar Coma Events^TM which have been featured in publications such as Daily Candy, Southern Living, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Atlanta Magazine. She also produces lavish!^TM, a first-in-class lifestyle blogger conference for those who utilize social media to engage about shelter, style, travel, food & wine, entertaining and other general lifestyle considerations. Also an author, Shameeka recently penned Instantly!: How Quickly I Realized I Hate My Job, a novella where occupational tomfoolery, hilarity and technology collide and  has been a lifestyle contributor to EBONY.

Shameeka is a highly sought-after motivational speaker who is passionate about sharing stories relating to self-discovery, reinvention and her transition from employee to entrepreneur. She has sick addictions to trashy reality television shows, bargain hunting and Pinterest. Shameeka and her husband, Eric (aka “Mr TBS”), reside in Atlanta and are the pround parents of Gareth (aka “The Boy”), a student-athlete at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX.  Shameeka actively particpates in fundraising and awareness for breast cancer. Before becoming a solopreneur in 2010, Shameeka worked in the pharmaceutical and technology industries for fifteen years.
