Alas, this is my final blog post of the summer as the TBS Intern. My time this summer working with Shameeka has been so wonderful and enriching; I’m sad it’s over! My final three favorite things of the summer reflect my excitement about getting back to the grind at school, though they are certainly all great products for day to [...]

I tend to get my inspiration from the weirdest things these days. We’ve talked about inspiration boards over here before. I do OK with mine but some of the things that move me can not be pegged to a bulletin board. I thought I’d share what has my heart these days: check out this pillow. It captures a lot of [...]

I saw this wonderful picture story in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution about holiday decor. The designers challenged readers to decorate areas of the home that aren’t traditionally explored. I also love how the dress form has been brought into the holiday decor. Have you decorated your home? Any money saving tips to share? Photo credit: The Atlanta-Journal Constitution

Once again, I’ve something that I MUST confess. I, The Broke Socialite, am obsessed with The CW’s Gossip Girl. Am I likely too old? Yes. Do I care? Absolutely not. I’m of the 90210 generation and this gang satisfies my thirst for trash television. So there. I love to hate the circuitous storylines and threaten to stop watching it every [...]

AskWifey, The Chatterbox’s Christie Crowder and I sporting our O Bracelets at Blogalicious. No pomp and circumstance necessary (OK…maybe a little will do). I’m not that kind of ambassador…yet (and only in my head). If you hadn’t noticed, TBS is sorta peculiar. I have a mind of own and simply do what I want. I say what I mean and I mean what I [...]

I was watching CBS Evening News with Katie Couric last night and there was a segment on Clara Cannucciari, a great-grandmother who shares the recipes which sustained her family through the Great Depression. From pasta to peas and on to potatoes, Clara’s grandson tapes her “shows” in the comfort of her kitchen for the world to watch. To catch the [...]

(above) From Urban Grace (one of my FAVE new blogs) (above) From Habitually Chic (above)From Absolutely Beautiful Things The first pic with the navy blue upholstery and nailheads is,hands down, my favorite. If I had to say that I was going for a particular “look”, this would absolutely be it. Wish me luck!

If you’ll remember, last week, I took a trip to the Salvation Army and stumbled on these chairs and ottomans. Well, damn them! I can’t get their clean lines and the promising pieces they would be if recovered out of my head. Right now, I’ve two upholstered orange slipper chairs in our family room. Let me tell you, they’re absolutely [...]

After the sorrowful news about Domino magazine yesterday, I couldn’t help but seek retail comfort. In the midst of doing some research about some new site goodies (which I’ll be sharing soon and very soon), I came upon this ring at Vivre. While at $150, it’s approximately $130 beyond what I’d pay for a cocktail ring, can’t a girl wish [...]

Aren’t these lovely? I found them at Pottery Barn and instantly fell in love. But the more I thought about them after reading the product description, couldn’t I make these myself? I mean…a trip to Sam Flax for some oversized frames, a few yards of natural linen flax, a bit of padding and some push pins…sounds like a TBS project [...]
